How to get started with your brand – useful tips

As tempting as it is to get cracking with a logo design or your favourite colour palettes there are a few things that you can do to make sure you’re laying the right foundations for the success of your brand:

  1. Be clear on your mission. Nail the elevator pitch for your brand. This is also called the mission statement - what are you doing and why. Have you got clarity on how your brand will impact the world?

  2. Know your audience. Without the ‘who’, there is no ‘why’. Who will benefit from what you’re offering? What moves them into action? This will help you deliver the right message in the right tone and create that connection between people and your brand.

  3. Align it with your values. Authenticity is not overrated and people can see through brands that don’t practice what they preach. If you want your brand to be successful you need to know what your values are and honour them at every stage.
